Obituary of Jane E. Cawley

Jane E. Cawley of Poughkeepsie, NY passed away at home on Sunday, March 12, 2017. A local resident since 1988, she was previously of Yonkers and Long Island, NY. Born in Bronx, NY, on February 27, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Joseph J. and Bridget McHugh Carter. Jane had worked in the clerical department for the Department of Corrections in the Down State Facility, retiring in 2005. She enjoyed playing cards, going to plays and shows and she always attended her grandchildren's sporting events. Jane is survived by her three daughters, Bridget M. Wojner (Michael) of Clinton Corners, NY, Kimberly Ann Fusco of Fishkill, NY and Karen M. Karis (Peter) of Pleasant Valley, NY. Also surviving are her grandchildren Nicole Wojner, Francis and Anthony Fusco and Elizabeth and Andrew Karis. In addition to her parents, Jane was also predeceased by her two brothers James and Thomas Carter. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 from 4:00-8:00pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, March 16, 2017 at 1:00pm at St. Martin de Porres Church.
