Obituary of Grace V. Anderson

Grace Virginia Anderson (nee Beyer), daughter of the late Thomas Joseph Beyer and Helen Beyer Naughton and stepdaughter to Joseph Naughton, passed away on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 surrounded by her family. Born into this world on January 20, 1922, Grace was baptized at Saint Michael’s Church in Brooklyn New York  where she also received her first communion and was confirmed. She was married to Eskil “Whitey” (Sachel) Anderson on April 25, 1943 who preceded her in death. Grace was also preceded her sister Doris O’Connell. She is survived by her three children: Christopher (Barbara), Craig (Linda) and Susan (Kevin); six grandchildren: John (Rachel), Kara (Forrest), Erik, Crystal (Scott),Brian, Corey (Kelly), Cayleigh (Vince); eight great grandchildren: Nathan, Tony, Colin, Austin, Colton, Chase, Maci and Cameron.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Timothy Doyle Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. A one hour viewing will take place Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at 10:00 am at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 am, and burial will follow at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery. A reception will also follow the funeral services at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church to be designated to the children of need in our area as this was one of Grace’s last prayers to the Lord our God.
