Obituary of Richard M. Miller

Richard M. Miller, age 65, passed away on Tuesday, July 18th, 2017 with his family by his side.

Born in Brooklyn, NY on November 15, 1951.  Richard was the son of the late Catherine Callahan.  He was a graduate from William E. Grady Vocational High School.

Richard had retired in November, 2016 from Shop Rite, Carmel, NY, where he had worked for 33 years.

He is survived by his wife, Marianne E. Miller, who was married in Maspeth, Queens at St. Stanislaus Kostka RC Church, in October 1975.  He has three children; Richard M. Miller Jr., Theresa Anne Miller, and Matthew A. Miller.  He also has an eight month old grandson, Jordan Anthony.  He is also survived by his siblings Albert P. Miller, Susan Savino, and Jane Tuohy along with many nieces and nephews.

Richard enjoyed going for walks, particularly at Jackson Road Sports Park, spending time with his family and friends.  He also loved watching sports of all kinds, specifically hockey, of which he was a die-hard NY Rangers fan.  Most of all he enjoyed spending time at Monticello Raceway.  His children will carry on the tradition of going and raising their children to know how to play the ponies.

A celebration of Richard’s life will be held from 4pm until 8pm on Friday, July 21st, 2017 at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home 371 Hooker Avenue in Poughkeepsie, NY.  A Mass will be held at 11am on Saturday, July 22nd, 2017 at Saint Martin de Porres in Poughkepsie, NY. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations be made to The Heart Association or Sloan Ketttering.
