Obituary of Charles M. Van Tine

Charles M. Van Tine 91 of Poughkeepsie passed away on September 28, 2017 at the Elant at Fishkill.

Charles was born in Poughkeepsie, New York on May 30, 1926, he was the son of the late Walter Charles and the late Elizabeth Garry Van Tine. On February 24, 1952 at St. Mathias Church in Bedford Hills, NY. Charles married Rose A. Astrologo, she survives at home.

Charles was a Route Salesman for Sealtest Ice Cream. After retiring from Sealtest he worked as a driver for Walter Smith Welding and Pruden Auto.

Charles was a United States Navy Veteran, serving in WWII and the Korean War.

Charles Owned Model A Cars, he was a knife and gun collector, he loved to work and retired from his last job at age 88.

Charles is survived by his wife Rose, his two sons Walter G. Van Tine and his wife Sheila of Wappingers Falls, NY. and Charles M. Van Tine and his wife Lesli of Port Ewen, NY. Charles is also survived by his five grandchildren, Cheryl, Matthew, Richard, Rose and Patrick, his brother Richard Van Tine and his wife Sadie of Bridgeport, CT. and his sister Laurene Van Tine of Lake Katrine, NY.

Charles was predeceased by his brother Walter B. Van Tine and three sisters Mary Kenny, Dorothy Marinucci and Charlotte Fort.

Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family at St. Peter's Cemetery.
