Obituary of Charles E. Miller

Charles E. "Chuckie" Miller, Jr., 64, passed away on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 in Millbrook, NY after a long battle with Pancreatic Cancer.  Born in Poughkeepsie, NY on November 25, 1952, he was the son of late Charles E. and Dorothy Juan Miller, Sr.  Chuckie was a 1971 graduate of Arlington High School and was a member of the National Guard.  He had worked for Bottini Oil as a driver and also had worked for Juan Refrigeration and United Refrigeration as a Manager.  Chuckie was an avid Jets fan and golfer.  He loved his family and grandchildren.  He was also very proud of becoming an Eagle Scout in his younger years.  He was a life member of Arlington Engine #1, life member of LaGrange Station 2, where he was the past district president and held the rank of Captain and Lieutenant, a life member and past commodore of the Pirate Canoe Club and a member of ASA Empire for over 20 years.  Chuckie is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Charles E. and Stephanie Miller, III of Poughkeepsie, son and fiancĂ© Bruce C. Miller and Beth Hout of Millbrook, NY, his grandchildren Dawn Hout Miller of Millbrook and Hunter and Mackenzie Miller of Poughkeepsie.  Also surviving is his brother and sister-in-law Robert and Donna Miller of Poughkeepsie and his best friend Laurie Bocchino of Poughkeepsie.  Calling hours will be held on Friday, October 27, 2017 from 4:00-8:00pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY 12603.  The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at 10:00am in the funeral home and burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery.  If desired memorial donations may be made to the Hudson Valley Hospice, 374 Violet Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.  For directions or to send online condolences, please visit our website at www.doylefuneralhome.com
