Obituary of Marie L. Gomez

Marie L. Obando Gomez, 88 of Poughkeepsie, NY died on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at home. Marie was born on October 14, 1929 in Fredonia, Columbia to the late Mercedes Obando. She married Jorge I. Gomez on August 4, 1948 at in Medellin, Columbia and predeceased her on June 30, 2005.

A homemaker and local resident for 25 years, Marie loved to do pottery, grow flowers and was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Church.

Marie is survived by her children Jorge, Carlos, Alvane, Elena, Mima, CeCe, Ruben, Olga and Edwin as well as 25 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her daughter Victoria "Vicky" Yanez.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, November 10, 2017 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, Inc. 371 Hooker Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603 with Funeral Services at 7:30pm at the Funeral Home.
