Obituary of Cirila Ofelia Perez

Cirila Ofelia Perez 85 of the Town of Poughkeepsie, died Tuesday December 19, 2017 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. Born in Madruga Cuba  on July 9, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Ildefonso and the late Hilaria Hernandez Lohuis.

Cirila worked at Fieldston College in the Bronx and after she retired she worked as a caretaker.

Cirila was a local resident since 1952 and she was a member of St Peter's Church in Yonkers.

Cirila became a United States Citizen in 1989. She loved to read poetry, garden and grow flowers.

Cirila is survived by her daughter Linda Perez Lopez of Poughkeepsie, her son Ernest Perez and wife Vivian of Yonkers, her son Ralph Perez of the Bronx, grandchildren Ricky, Liana Lynn, Antonio Loprez, Tiffany, Brittney, Ernie, Christopher and Ralph Perez.

Cirila was also predeceased by her husband Arcadio and her brothers and sisters.

Calling Hours will be held Thursday December 21, 2017 from 4pm to 8pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home 371 Hooker Ave. Poughkeepsie, New York 12603. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 9:30am Friday December 22, 2017 at St Mary's Church in Wappingers Falls, New York. Burial will follow at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
