Obituary of William " Joe " Gorba

William “Joe” Gorba, 80 of the Town of LaGrange, NY passed away on Saturday, December

30, 2017 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Poughkeepsie, NY. William was

born on January 9, 1937 in the Bronx, NY where he lived with the late Gilbert and

Matilda Simmons. He married Joan Doherty on August 26 1972 at the First Dutch Reformed

Church in Fishkill, NY and survives at home.

A local resident for over 50 years, William was a Senior Coordinator for Con Edison until

his retirement in 1996. He was a 50 year member of the Myers Corners Masonic

Lodge and was also a 45 year member of the First Dutch Reformed Church in Fishkill,

NY. William loved to work with wood, collect trains and spend time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife Joan, William is survived by his daughters Janet (Brett) Sivo of

Ellicott City, MD, Michele (Christopher) Pisanelli of Poughkeepsie, NY, Suzanne Adams

of Concord, NC, and son Ed Doherty of Marlboro, NY, grandchildren Brian, Zachary and

Sean Sivo, Brenna and Samantha Pisanelli and Vanessa and Collin Adams, William and

Harley Doherty and their mother Kristina Coleman.

The calling hour will be at 10 am-11 am on Saturday, January 6, 2018, Funeral Service

follow at 11:00am at the First Dutch Reformed Church, in Fishkill, NY. Burial will follow

at the Memorial Garden located at the First Dutch Reformed Church. In Lieu of

Flowers donations may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children. Arrangements are

under the direction of the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, Inc. 371 Hooker Avenue,
