Obituary of Salvatore Blandino

Salvatore J. Blandino, 97, of Poughkeepsie, NY passed away on Friday, January 26, 2018 at The Eleanor Nursing Care Ctr. in Hyde Park.  Born on December 13, 1920 in Bridgeport, CT, he was the son of the late Joseph J. and Marie Theresa Migliore Blandino.  He was a graduate of schools in Queens, NY and has been a local resident since 1947.  Sal served in the United States Air Force from 1941 to 1945.  On January 12, 1947 he  married Carole H. Giummaro at Mt. Carmel Church in Poughkeepsie, and she predeceased him in December, 2012.  Sal had worked for IBM in Poughkeepsie as an inspector, retiring in 1983.  He was a member of the 1/4 Century Club and Holy Trinity Church.  Sal is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Dennis M. and Nancy Blandino of Poughkeepsie, daughter, Donna Marie Doremus of Poughkeepsie and his granddaughter and her husband, Teresa and Brett Laffin of Pleasant Valley, NY.    Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and cousins.  In addition to his parents and wife, Sal was predeceased by his brothers John, Carmen and George Blandino and his sister Mary Tufano.  Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 from 4:00 - 7:00pm at the Timothy P.
