Obituary of Margaret " Pudgie " Destefano

Margaret " Pudgie" DeStefano 79 of Lagrange beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed away at home surrounded by her family on Wednesday December 27, 2017.

Margaret was born on July 14, 1938 in Poughkeepsie, New York., she was the daughter of the late Richard and the late Helen Robinson Gattine.

Margaret was a local resident all of her life. She was a graduate of St. Mary's Catholic School and Poughkeepsie High School.

On April 12, 1959, at St Mary's Church Poughkeepsie Margaret married Ralph DeStefano.

Margaret became a beautician and eventually opened her own salon. After she retired she continued to work for many other salons in the Poughkeepsie Area.

Margaret's  family and her grandchildren were her life. She was the one who held everyone together, she opened her home with open arms, great food and lots of laughs.

Margaret is survived by her husband Ralph of Poughkeepsie, her children Terri Vosburgh and her husband Dave of Unionvale, Tony DeStefano of Poughkeepsie and Traca Whyte and her husband Rob of Rhinebeck. Margaret is also survived by her five grandchildren, Lauren Vosburgh, David Vosburgh and his wife Theresa, Christina DeStefano and her fiance Nick Baglio, Amanda and Ally Whyte, grandson In-law Jason Minichino, her brother Edward Gattine and his wife Dolores and many nieces and nephews.

Margaret was predeceased by her sister Ellen Pacio and brothers Richard, Thomas and William Gattine.

Calling Hours will be held Tuesday January 2, 2018 from 4pm to 8pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home 371 Hooker Ave. Poughkeepsie, New York 12603. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10am Wednesday January 3, 2018 at Holy Trinity Church Poughkeepsie New York 12603. Entombment will follow at the Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery Community Mausoleum.
