Obituary of Anna Place

Anna Place (Bocchino) 87 passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 10, 2018.

A lifelong resident of Poughkeepsie, New York, Anna is survived by her husband, Richard Place, and three beautiful daughters. Karen Carlisle who lives in Oregon with husband Terri, Diana Place who resides in Florida, and Betty Potenza of Highland, NY. Anna is also survived by her grandchildren Nicholas Potenza and his wife Karissa, Sarah Potenza and Christopher Murphy, and great-grandchildren, Sophia and Lucas Potenza, Cortlyn Po Hurd and Emily Murphy. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Anna was predeceased by her parents, Albert and Theresa (DelSanto) Bocchino, her sister Josephine Fanelli and brother Thomas Bocchino.

People would say Anna was "the sweetest person." Her nurturing abilities brought great joy to all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as the children at Spackenkill high school where she was a lunch lady for almost 20 years.

Growing up Italian she made some delicious suppers. Anna taught daughter and granddaughter the recipe and technique to her manicotti which they made together every Mother's Day.

A devote Catholic who attended St. Martin de Porres Church, Anna would tell you to pray to St Anthony to find what was lost, and "it would be under something." She is no doubt in heaven watching and praying for her family who was blessed to have her in their lives.

Calling hours will be January 16, 2018 from 4pm to 7pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home 371 Hooker Ave. Poughkeepsie, New York 12603. There will be a prayer service during the calling hours at 6:30pm.

Burial will be at a later date at the Highland Cemetery.
