Obituary of Stephen Rensalear Gleason

Stephen Rensalear Gleason, 80 a resident of Lagrangeville, NY, passed away at Vassar Brothers Hospital on March 18, 2018 with his family by his side.

Steve worked for IBM for 30 years and also worked at Valley Courier.

Steve proudly served his Country  in the United States Marine Corp.

Steve was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, son and uncle. We loved Steve's sense of humor and his special love he had for his family, always putting them first. Steve was a communicant of St. Kateri and a member of the Poughkeepsie ELKS Lodge BPOE 275.

Born in Newburgh, NY on January 11, 1938, he was the son of the late John Gleason and Ruth Gleason Young. On December 26, 1993 he married Grace Griffin at the Chapel at Castle Point, NY, Grace survives at home.

In addition to his wife Steve is survived by his daughters Heather DiBlasi and her husband James of Syracuse, NY, Stephanie Messina and her husband Tony of Accord, NY. Steve is also survived by his stepchildren Brian (Leticia) Griffin of Pawling, NY, William (Amy) Griffin of Eastwareham, MA, Nancy Kibe of Beacon, NY and James (Gina) Griffin of Clayton, NC., his loving grandchildren Blaise, Maggie, Michael, Stephen, Anthony, Joseph, Crystal, Ryan, Trevor, Desiree, Kaitlyn, Kimberly, Alicia, Jennifer, Ian, his great grandchildren, Marshall, Treyvon, Charles, Christina, Logan, Kaleb, Nina, Ryan and Scarlet. In addition Steve is also survived by his sister Debbie Roe and her husband Butch of Pleasant Valley, NY, sister In-law Ginny Gleason of Fort Pierce FL and many nieces and nephews.

Steve was predeceased by his brothers Jack and Jimmy Gleason and his sister Kathy Roe and granddaughter Kelly Messina.

Calling hours will be held from 4pm to 8pm Thursday March 22, 2018 at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home 371 Hooker Ave. Poughkeepsie, New York 12603. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10am Friday March 23, 2018 at Saint Kateri Church Route 82 Lagrangeville, NY. Burial will follow at St. Denis Cemetery.
