Obituary of Andrew D'Angelo

Andrew D'Angelo, 89 passed away on Saturday, June 9, 2918 at Indian River Hospital in Vero Beach, Florida. Andrew was born on March 25, 1929 in Poughkeepsie, NY to the late Frank and Estelle D'Angelo. He married the former Dolores "Dodie" Howe on June 12, 1949 at St. Mary's Church in Poughkeepsie, NY. She predeceased him on November 8, 2008.

A local resident all his life prior to moving to Florida, Andrew was employed by IBM in Poughkeepsie until his retirement in 1976. After IBM, he owned and operated the Arlington Bar & Grill. Andrew was a member of Holy Trinity Church, BPOE #275, Knights of Columbus and the Italian Center. He was an avid sports fan who loved golf, played softball for many years and was a member of the Dutchess County Basketball Hall of Fame.

Andrew is survived by his sons Drew (Mary) D'Angelo of Hyde Park, NY, Daniel D'Angelo of Vero Beach, Fl, daughter Susan (David) D'Angelo Meister of Boca Raton, Fl, 7 grandchildren, Jessica, Nichole, Kyla and Danielle D'Angelo, Benjamin, Aaron and Sarah Meister as well as 6 great grandchildren. He is predeceased by son David D'Angelo, sister Antoinette Brown, brothers Frank, Nick and Vinny D'Angelo and daughter-in-law Diana.

Calling hours will be on Friday, June 15, 2018 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, Inc. 371 Hooker Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 10:00am at Holy Trinity Church, 775 Main Street, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. Burial is to follow at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
