Obituary of David W. Gearhart

David W. Gearhart 68 of the Town of Lagrange died at Ferncliff Nursing home in Rhinebeck, New York.

David was a life time area resident, he was born in Goshen, New York on September 10, 1949 he was the son of the late William P. and the late Olive Hulse Gearhart.

On December 2, 1972 at the 1st Presbyterian Church in Wappingers Falls David married Brenda Carol Robards Gearhart, she survives at home.

David was a graduate of Ketcham High School Class of 1968. David was a Vietnam Veteran of the United States Army and after serving his country  David went on to becoming a Professional Firefighter in the City of Poughkeepsie retiring after 27 years of service.

David was a very active member of the 1st Presbyterian Church in Wappingers, NY,  and service his church as an Elder.

David was also a member of the New Hamburg Station #2, and a active member of the Vietnam Veterans Association of America and served as the past president of the organization. He was a big sports fan, he loved the METS and Car Racing.

David is survived by his wife Brenda Carol Gearhart of Lagrange, his son William "Billy" Gearhart and his wife Dalia of New Paltz, his daughter Kimberly Jean King of Lagrange, his 4 grandchildren Mikayla Browne, Aidan Browne, Hudson David Gearhart and Hunter Steven Gearhart. David was also survived by his sister Susan Gee of Poughkeepsie and predeceased by his sister Carol Gruendle.

Calling Hours will be held Friday August 3, 2018 from 4pm to 8pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home 371 Hooker Ave. Poughkeepsie, New York 12603. Funeral Services will be held 10am Saturday August 4, 2018 at the 1st Presbyterian Church in Wappingers with burial to follow at the Wappingers Rural Cemetery. Memorial Donations can be made to the Huntington Disease Associaon of America
