I am French and atheist, but I was touched by the partial destruction of Notre Dame de Paris Cathedral, because beyond the religious symbol, it is also a magnificent symbol of engineering, crafts, arts professions, and also a memory of 800 years of the history of France.

I know that Andrew had worked on this cathedral and many others, I am sure that his work and passion for these monuments will not have been in vain and that they will most certainly be used for its reconstruction.

I am sure that this will be the best tribute we can pay to him by using all the digital data they had patiently collected.

I join the family in their sadness at the loss of their son and father and assure them of my deepest compassion.
