Obituary of Catherine Jurutka

Catherine {Kay} Jurutka ,98, of Poughkeepsie peacefully passed away on January 2, 2019 at home surrounded by her loved ones.

Kay had been a resident of Overlook Estates in LaGrange since 1960 and previously of Highland ,NY where she was born on October 3 ,1920. She was the daughter and one of ten children of Joseph and Madeline Illardi Mazzetti . She attended Highland schools.

She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, and was a dedicated ,active member of the Altar Society ,Women's Society ,and was instrumental in the start up of the Hot Meals program for Holy Trinity school. Kay was also a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 1302 for 30 + years 

On July7,1960 ,Kay became the devoted wife of Peter Jurutka and dedicated her life to raising their 8 children. They are the late Elizabeth Marchese of Pleasant Valley , Belinda Monaster of Lake Carmel, Judith Jurutka of Colonial Beach ,VA, Paul Jurutka of Belfast, ME. ,Peter S. Jurutka of Carmel , Helen Ashton of Clinton Corners , Karen Jurutka of Salt Point, and John Jurutka of Red Hook . Kay dedicated her life to her religion and her family.

Kay is predeceased by three sisters : Madeline Mazzetti Osika, Lucille Cucinello and Patricia Gasparo and five brothers Mike , Joe, Frank , John and Peter Mazzetti.

 She is survived by a brother, Alfred Mazzetti of Highland ,11 grandchildren,9 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Calling Hours will be held Tuesday January 8, 2019 from 4pm to 8pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home 371 Hooker Ave. Poughkeepsie, New York 12603. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10am at Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel of St. Peter's Parish 299 Hudson View Drive Poughkeepsie, New York on  Wednesday January 9, 2019. Burial will follow at St Peters Cemetery .

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Dutchess County Hospice for their dedication and the support they provided.
