Obituary of Arthur J. Stalter

Arthur J. Stalter, 93, of Poughkeepsie died on January 9, 2019 at the Pines of Poughkeepsie.  Art was born in New York City on August 17, 1925; he was the son of the late Norman and the late Loretta Murphy Stalter.   On April 21, 1951 in Hyde Park, Art married Jean M. Conners. Jean predeceased him on January 12, 2005.  Art was a local resident most of his life; he served in the United States Army in the 1st Army 9588th Medical Detachment, Ft. Dix, NJ at the Tilson General Hospital Ward 57.  Then worked as a Highway Supervisor for the NYS DOT.  Art is survived by his children Bruce Stalter and his wife Darlene of Poughkeepsie, Lori Spencer of Poughkeepsie, Brian Stalter and his wife Denise of Poughkeepsie, Lynn Sumski of Poughkeepsie, Lisa Decker of Poughkeepsie, and grandchildren who resided with Arthur, Heather and Raymond and 9 other grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  Art was predeceased by his brother Raymond Stalter, his 2 son in-laws David Decker and Philip Spencer, as well as his great-grandchild April.  Calling hours will be held 4pm to 8pm on Tuesday January 15, 2019 at the Timothy P.
