Obituary of Donald B. Atkinson

Donald B. Atkinson of Poughkeepsie passed away on Friday February 5, 2021. He was born in the Bronx on August 6, 1937 to George and Marion Sheehan Atkinson

Beloved husband of Patricia Maloney Atkinson who predeceased him on August 1, 1986.

Loving father of Donald J. Cynthia and Deborah, cherished grandfather of Amanda and Kayla, great grandfather of Niklaus.

Donald is also survived by  his sister Carol Long and his beloved longtime companion of 20 years Carol Ann Ackert.

He proudly served his country in the United States Army and serving a tour in Korea. Following his discharge he worked for Gannett Newspapers in Westchester as a pre-press manager and retired after 42 years.

He loved to travel, fine restaurants, golfing, the gym, baseball and the NY Yankees.

Burial will be private at Gate of Heaven Cemetery Hawthorne, New York
