Obituary of Robert W. Carrothers

Robert W. Carrothers, 85, of Poughkeepsie, NY passed away on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at The Grand Rehabilitation & Nursing of Poughkeepsie.  Born in Pine Plains, NY on April 21, 1936, he was the son of the late Leslie and Christina Thorpe Carrothers.  Robert was a graduate of Pine Plains High School and served in the United States Army from 1954-1957.  On June 15, 1958 he married his wife Yolanda Pataro at Mt. Carmel Church and she survives him.  They were happily married for 63 years.  Robert was a City of Poughkeepsie Fire Fighter Local 596, retiring on December 26, 1986.  He was an avid outdoorsman, belonging to The American Legion #1302, Casperkill Gun Club, Morgan Hill Gun Club and the Amateur Trap Association.  In addition to his wife, Yolanda, he is survived by his daughter Leslie Marie Hooper of Apex, NC, as well as sister-in-law Patricia and two nieces and one nephew. Graveside will be held 1pm Wednesday August 11, 2021, at the Mausoleum at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Poughkeepsie. Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of the Timothy P.
