Obituary of Lori A. Outwater

Lori Outwater, 70, of Wappingers Falls, went home to her Heavenly Father on August 12, 2021 after a battle with cancer that demonstrated her strength, resiliency, and faith. Lori delighted in God’s word, and loved all of His creatures, large and small. Her family takes solace in knowing that they will be reunited again for eternity.

Born June 9, 1951 in Syracuse, NY, Lori was the daughter of the late Richard and Kathryn Mueller. On August 1, 1973, Lori married Doug Outwater, who survives at home. Lori is also survived by her children Scott (Kelly) Outwater of Poughkeepsie, Shana (Donde) McIlwee of Pleasant Valley, Shelby Outwater-Curcio of Poughkeepsie, grandchildren Jordan, Kathryn, Emily, Dylan, Morgan, Tristin, Gavin and Fiona, and great-grandchildren Eliana and Leo. Also surviving are sisters Melanie (Dan) Ramsey and Kathi (Jerry) Davis, brother-in-law Wayne Outwater, and many extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her parents-in-law Carson and Ada Outwater, son-in-law Carmine Curcio, brothers Richard Mueller Jr. and Joseph Light, sister Teesha D’aoust, and sisters-in-law Jill Mueller, Sharon Light, and Elaine Outwater.

Lori was generous of her time and love, serving as a strong presence in the lives of her family and church. She was always ready to cheer (the loudest) at a ball game or school concert, and to share her love for nature, camping, astronomy, reading, and gardening. Lori’s legacy will live on through the many hobbies and passions that she passed on to her family.
