Obituary of Barbara Cannon

A lifelong resident of the Poughkeepsie area, Barbara Ann Cannon, 89, passed away on September 16, 2021. Born in Beacon, NY on June  1, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Irving and Jennie (nee Husted) Duncan. Mrs. Cannon attended school in Poughkeepsie, and worked for Liberty  Mutual Insurance in Poughkeepsie before retiring in 1991. On February 24, 1951 at Hedding Methodist Church, she married the late Robert Cannon. She is survived by her daughter Linda Dallara and her husband Jim of Oneonta, NY, her two sons: Douglas and his wife Lynn of Wappingers Falls, NY and Tim in Texas. She is survived by her four grandchildren: Jennifer Dallara-Angiletta and her husband Robert of Albany, NY, Aaron Dallara and his wife Sheillah of NJ, Mandi Cannon of Flower Mount, TX, Robert Cannon and his wife Louis of Texas. In addition, she is survived by 7 great grandchildren.She was predeceased by her sister Lavinia Bonak. Mrs. Cannon was a sweet kind and compassionate women who was loved by all who knew her.  She enjoyed reading, doing puzzles and some traveling.  She especially has the best neighbors and was truly blessed. Services will be held at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY on Wednesday, September 22nd. Calling hours will be from 10am until 11am. Services with Pastor Victor Dyman officiating will begin at 11am with burial to follow at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
