I was so saddened to learn of Barbara's passing. She was a wonderful friend and colleague, and I will miss her greatly. Whenever I think of Barbara, I remember some of my best days at Marist - those exciting days when we all collaborated with her to create a First-Year Program that continues to benefit Marist students over 30 years later. Its long-lasting success is a tribute to Barbara and a testimony to her dedication as a teacher and administrator. My heart and prayers go out to her sons, Roy, Tim, and David, and the entire Carpenter family. RIP my friend.
Barbara was a dedicated educator who touched the lives of thousands of students over the course of her career. She worked tirelessly to enable all students to succeed in their college careers through academic support and creative programming. Barbara was also an advocate for international education, always supporting students in their quest to experience other cultures. She contributed much to her profession and to Marist College where she served for the majority of her career.
My condolences go out to her entire family, especially to her three sons, in whom she took great pride. May her love always remain in your hearts.
With deepest sympathy,
Karen L. Tomkins-Tinch
