Obituary of John R. Hall
John Randolph Hall, 63, of Poughkeepsie, New York passed away on February 1, 2022, at Westchester Medical Center. He was born on March 9, 1958, in Cold Spring, New York to the late Donald and Barbara (Doran) Hall.
A local resident most of his life, John was a graduate of John Jay High School Class of 1976 and a member of St. Martin de Porres Church. He graduated from Virginia Military Institute in 1980, and served in the United States Air Force from 1980 to 1983, attaining the rank of 1st Lieutenant.
John worked as Regional Coordinator for Westchester BOCES for nearly 30 years, a testament to how much he valued learning and education. Outside of work, John loved to unwind with a round of golf or a good bourbon. He loved football and was a diehard Notre Dame and Raiders fan. He cherished time with his friends and family, whether taking trips to NYC, vacationing in the tropics, or hosting Sunday dinner at his home.
Most of all, John will be remembered as someone who constantly supported and looked out for the wellbeing of those around him, and as a wholly devoted husband and father. He married Sandrina DiCapua on September 11, 1994, at St Columba Church in Hopewell Junction, and the two remained lovingly together for 27 years at the time of his passing. John was a wonderful dad, continually amazed by his daughter Emma, and so incredibly proud.
John is survived by his wife Sandrina and daughter Emma M. Hall of Poughkeepsie NY, brother Charles Hall and his wife Patti of Hilton Head SC, sister Dr. Cyndy Hall of Tifton GA, his sisters- and brothers-in-law, including Deborah and Rocco Garbellano, Maria and Stephen Dolce, Dominick DiCapua, Loisann Palomba and Gino DiCapua, as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents Donald and Barbara Hall, and his mother-in-law and father-in-law Delia and Savino DiCapua.
Funeral Services and Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations can be made in John’s name to Wounded Warriors www.woundedwarriorproject.org/donate
