Obituary of Henry G. Larsen

Henry (Hank) Larsen, 100 years young, passed away on May 3, 2022, at Vassar hospital, surrounded by his family.  He was born on February 22, 1922, in Brooklyn, NY, to Harry and Madeline Larsen.

Henry entered the Army in 1942 and served in World War II.  In 1949, he married his wife, Ann, and they raised their family in Nanuet, NY.  They were married for 73 years.

For forty years, he was a supervisor for American Cyanamid Pharmaceuticals.  In 1986, he retired, and in 2000, they moved to Poughkeepsie to be near family.  He was a lover of the outdoors, handyman extraordinaire, and enjoyed his ice cream outings.  His wit, intelligence, and memory was amazing, as family and friends can attest.

Along with his wife, he is survived by his two devoted daughters, Susan Griffin, and her husband, Jerry, of Poughkeepsie, NY, and Linda Larsen, and her husband, Jimmy, of Wareham, MA.  His grandson, Casey Larsen, of Wareham, MA, was his pride and joy.  He also loved spending time with his great-grandchildren, Emitt and Amariana.

Also surviving are nephews, James Mehlin of Virginia, and Glenn Larsen, of Florida.

There are also several grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Henry comes from a family of long, fulfilling lives.  His mother lived to 104, his brother to 101, and his sister to 95.

There will be military honors during a private service at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery Mausoleum.
