Obituary of Hope J. Meyer

Hope J. Meyer 85 of Lagrange, passed away on June 10, 2022 at the Pines at Poughkeepsie. 

Hope was born in Poughkeepsie May 31, 1937, she was the daughter of Leslie and Lottie (Secor) Mackey.

Hope was a local resident all of her life and she was a graduate of Poughkeepsie High School.

On October 17, 1964 Hope married Edward J. Meyer at St. Peter’s Church.

Hope was a life member of the Lagrange Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary where she served as the treasure of the organization. She was a member of the XP Society.

Hope loved to do photography for the Fire Department, she enjoyed needle point, cooking, baking and spending time with her grandchildren and family.

Hope(Tootsie) is survived by her husband at home Edward J. Meyer, her two son’s John Meyer and his wife Barbara of Lagrange, Jay Meyer and his wife Merry of Pleasant Valley, her 3 grandchildren Erica Martinson, Martina Meyer, Kaylee Meyer and her 2 great grandchildren Ronnie Martinson and Mackenzie Martinson.

Hope was predeceased by her two sisters Shirley Volnick and Caroline (Tippy)Gramiak.

Visitation will be held on June 15, 2022 from 4pm to 8pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home 371 Hooker Ave. Poughkeepsie, New York 12603.

Funeral Services will be held on 10am Thursday June 16, 2022 at the Funeral Home with burial to follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery Salt Point Turnpike Poughkeepsie, New York.

Reception to follow at Pleasant Valley Station 1, 1619 Main Street, Pleasant Valley.   Donations may be made in her name to Sparrows Nest or Hospice of the Hudson Valley
