Obituary of Thomas Muir

Thomas A. Muir, Jr. 88, of Poughkeepsie, NY, passed away on Monday, August 8, 2022 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. Thomas was born in White Plains, NY on June 1, 1934 the son of Thomas A. Muir, Sr. and the former Damaris Wilson. He married Albena Noto on November 4, 1964 in Port Ewen, NY. She predeceased him on January 19, 2017.

A local resident all his life, Thomas attended Alfred University and served in the US Army. He was self employed as a carpet cleaner and retired in 1992. Thomas was a Mason and a member of the Shriners. He drove for the Shriners and loved to joke around with all his family members.

Survivors include his Daughter Karen D. (Leo) Mazzella of Poughkeepsie, NY,  grandchildren Daniel M. Fanelli and Dominick F. Fanelli, both of Highland, NY. Thomas is predeceased by his grandson Joseph D. Fanelli and brother John Muir.
