Obituary of Muneer Tony Nesheiwat

Muneer (Tony) Nesheiwat, 47, sadly passed away after battling pancreatic cancer on August 10, 2022 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. He was born on November 10, 1974 in Kheitan, Kuwait to the late Eid and Rougina Nesheiwatwho immigrated from Jordan. 

​Tony moved to America when he was only five years old. He was a graduate of Poughkeepsie High School’s class of 1993. Following graduation, he briefly attended Dutchess Community College before finding his passion for cars.  He worked as a mechanical technician and owned his auto shops; he was the owner of Mid-City Auto Sales and Tri-State Auto in Poughkeepsie. 

Tony is survived by his wife of 20 years, Nisreen AlbqaeenNesheiwat and his four children: Joseph (19), Angelina (15), Ariana (6) and Jason (3). He is also survived by his siblings: Nariman Sayej, Nabil (Mike) Nesheiwat, Adel Nesheiwat, Mousa Nesheiwat, Najah Nesheiwat, Monte Nesheiwat and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents Eid and Rougina Nesheiwat, he was predeceased by his sisters Sabah Alhello and Nawal Sahawnah. 

Tony was a kind hearted and fun spirited individual.  Heenjoyed spending quality time with his family, boat rides on the Hudson with his nieces and nephews, skiing, golfing and fishing. 

Memorial services will be held on Monday, August 15, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at St James Antiochian Orthodox Church 441 Violet Ave, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601. Funeral services will be held August 16, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at St James Church. Burial services will take place at St. Peters Cemetery 171 Salt Point Turnpike Poughkeepsie, NY 12603.Mercy meal will take place at St James Antiochian church following funeral services.
