Obituary of Gary Charles Young

Gary Charles Young was born in Vassar Brother’s Hospital in Poughkeepsie New York in 1968 the son of Anna Angell and Allen J. Young. He has an identical twin brother, Marc Young, whom he referred to as his “womb mate”. Gary and Marc were as close to one another as can be. As youngsters they converted lawn mowers into go-carts, enjoyed riding dirt bikes, playing little league baseball, and enjoying swimming and fishing, lots of fishing. Gary worked two summers for the Village of Wappinger Falls Highway Department prior to graduating from John J High School.

Gary is survived by his beloved spouse Patricia Hart Young and his precious daughter Sara Hart, his brothers Marc Young and Adam J. Young (Kristine) and his nephew Daniel A. Young, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is predeceased by his father Allen and his stepfather Solomon Neustat.

Gary was employed by the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office from 1993 to 2018 when he retired with the rank of Sergeant.

A Celebration of life will be held for Gary on Saturday November 19, 2022, from 10am to 2pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home 371 Hooker Ave. Poughkeepsie, New York 12603. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
