Obituary of Charles A. Baker Jr.

Charles A. Baker Jr., 81, of Poughkeepsie, NY passed away on November 15, 2022. He was born on June 27, 1941, in Poughkeepsie, New York to the late Charles A. and the late Mildred (Miller) Baker Sr.

Charles was a graduate of Franklin D. Roosevelt High School in 1959. He was a exceptional basketball player in his senior year.

Charles was an Administrator for IBM - Poughkeepsie, NY and East Fishkill, NY retiring in 1990.

Charles was a local resident all his life. He loved sports, he was a big Mets and Jets Fan, he enjoyed driving and being with his family and friends. He also like to work on computers, and he like to play in the Stock Market. His close friends would call him “Bud” or “Buddy”.

Charles enjoyed many great times with his best friend Peter G. Albrecht, Fred “Spoooha” Pfleider and Robert “Bobby” Gamble.

He was the husband of Melba S. Martinez. They were married on June 19, 1989 in Honhuras.

Survivors include spouse Melba Baker Poughkeepsie New York, son Charles A. Baker III Poughkeepsie New York, daughter Elisa N. Baker Ruby New York, son Thomas A. Baker Poughkeepsie New York, grandson Liam Waldron Baker Hyde Park New York, grandson Oliver Houghton Ruby New York, predeceased brother William A. Baker and predeceased sister Judith Baker Brooks.

His Funeral Service will be held November 21, 2022 at 12:00 PM from Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Ave, Poughkeepsie, NY.

Friends may call on Monday, November 21, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Timothy P. Doyle
