Upon his return to Poughkeepsie, Dave worked in banking and rose to the position of Branch Manager at Mid-Hudson Savings Bank.  In 1982, Dave joined IBM Corporation in East Fishkill as a financial analyst, where he continued to work until his retirement in 2009.

Dave enjoyed watching the birds, deer hunting, sitting on the patio in the spring and summer, and watching old westerns. His grandchildren, Hunter, and Mackenzie were the light of his life.  He didn’t miss a scouting event for Hunter, a dance recital for Mackenzie or a school concert.   He enjoyed them wandering in and out of the house, talking with him or just fooling around.   He loved to see Mackenzie do her gymnastics in the den and this year he even got to see Hunter play football at Arlington High School as a freshman.  He stayed in touch with his friends and Army buddies and enjoyed a drink on Friday or Saturday evenings at the Elks.
