Obituary of Luciano Renne

Lou Renne was called back to the Lord where he is at peace, early Sunday morning, 10/6/13, after a year long illness. He spent his last days surrounded by his family who fulfilled his life. Luciano was born August 3, 1938 in Queens New York to Cosima Barille and Joseph Renne and Stepson of Louise De Benedetto, who predeceased him. Lou has two brothers; Paul Renne who is predeceased and John Renne residing in Endicott, NY. Lou was a member of the US Army Infantry and served in Korea for several years. Lou's hobbies included working with electronic repairs and he enjoyed going to the gym daily and was an avid golf player and enjoyed time spent on the course with his buddies Joe, Jim, Chuck, Ken, Marty and Pat. He married Rose Marie Beretta on October 4, 1987. Together they share seven children, twenty grandchildren and one great grandson. Children include; Rosemarie (Jeff) Williams, Madeline (Skip) Bartolotti, Theresa (Robert) Lucas, Julia Bocchino and John (Kara) Renne and two Step-sons Joseph (Michelle) Beretta and Michael Beretta. Grandchildren are Nichola, Catherine, Adam, Olivia, Blake, Nicholas, Raymond, Nathan, April, Rebecca, Jamie, Stephen, Gina Marie, Angela, Victoria, Daniel, Michael, Vincent, Maria and the newest grandchild; Luciano (Luca), and Alex his great grandson. The family would like to thank the entire staff of the Oncology Clinic at Castle Point VA hospital, including Beth, Blanca, Pam, Enid and Janine. Special thanks to Dr. Mehta, Sharon Thomas and Joby David who devoted so much time, care, energy and compassion to Lou and Rose Marie. We would also like to thank Hospice for the care, compassion and tender way they handled Lou throughout this ordeal. Thank you Julia, Janet Stephanie, Javier, Jennifer and Jolene. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, October 9, 2013 from 3PM to 8 PM at Timothy Doyle's Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2013, at 11AM at St. Augustine's in Highland, New York. The burial will be at St Peter's Cemetery, Salt Point Turnpike, Poughkeepsie, NY Donations in lui of flowers can be made to Castle Point VA Oncology department.
