Obituary of Alice Jane Maloney

Alice Jane Hill Maloney, 83, of Pleasant Valley, NY died Thursday, February 6, 2014 at home. A lifelong resident, she was born in Poughkeepsie, NY on December 8, 1930 to the late Robert G. and Alice Wheeler Hill. Alice attended Poughkeepsie High School, the Drew Seminary and audited classes at Ulster Community College. On February 9, 1949 Alice married William R. Maloney, II and he predeceased her on April 9, 1994. Alice had worked in sales for Macy's, Eggleston Office Equipment, McCombs Stationary, Montgomery Ward's, Schneider's Jewelry and J.C. Penney's, retiring in 2004. She loved to paint and enjoyed photography, dance and Taichi. Alice is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Allison and Gary P. Wilcha of Verbank, NY and son and daughter-in-law Richard J. and Gail Maloney of Pleasant Valley, NY. Also surviving are two grandsons Donald P. (Jessica) Robison of Millbrook, NY and Ryan M. Maloney of Pleasant Valley, NY, 3 step-grandsons, 9 great grandchildren, sister Barbara Lebhar of Melbourne Beach, FL and brother David Hill of Montross, CO and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Alice loved the ocean and especially loved to dress up for Halloween. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 from 4-7pm at the Timothy P.
