Obituary of Helen Seko

Helen Mae Seko "Nana", 92, of Hyde Park, NY died Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at the Ferncliff Nursing Home. A 60 year local resident, she was previously of Allentown, PA. Helen was born on July 4, 1921 to the late Peter and Anna Bearish. On January 11, 1947 she married Stephen Seko, Jr. at the Hungarian Reformed Church in Poughkeepsie, NY and he predeceased her in 1989. Helen loved to cook and always did everything for her kids. She was the rock of the family. Helen is survived by her children; daughter and son-in-law Beverly and Robert Ellsworth of New Paltz, NY, daughter and son-in-law Nancy and Daniel Sabia of Columbia, SC and her son and daughter-in-law Stephen and Michele Seko of Red Hook, NY. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Lori (Michael) Olheiser, Laura (Paul) Telese, Lauren Seko, Brian (Cindy) Seko, Daniel (Amanda) Sabia, Kristina (Kevin) Shwarzbauer and her great-grandchildren Jordan Olheiser, Antonio and Olivia Telese and her latest great-grandson Daniel Robert Sabia, IV. Helen is also survived by her brothers and sister-in-laws; John Bearish, Charles and Mary Bearish, sister-in-law Margaret Bearish and her sister and brother-in-law Jean and Arthur Koch. In addition to her husband, Helen was also predeceased by her brother Frank Bearish and sister-in-law Helen Bearish. There are no calling hours. A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at 9:00am at the Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery Mausoleum. If desired, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
