Obituary of Henry Zannis

Henry James Zannis, 84, passed away Wednesday April 9, 2014 in Wake Forest North Carolina. Born on September 1, 1929 Henry was born in New York, NY to the late James and Rose Zannis. Henry was a member of the U.S. Navy Seabees. During his time of service Harry received a National Defense Medal. Henry held residence in Portland, Maine, Pleasant Valley and Wake Forest. Harry also worked for the International Union of Operating Engineers where he ultimately retired. On December 21, 1968 Henry Married his longtime wife Bertha Zannis in Hyde Park, NY who predeceased him on April 29, 2011. Henry is survived by his son Nick and wife Laura Zannis of Rocky Mountain, NC, son, Pete and wife Mary Zannis of Milford, CT, step-son Joe King and family of New Hampshire, step-son James King and family of Connecticut, and step-son Thomas King of New York, NY. Calling hours will take place Saturday April 19, 2014 at Timothy P. Doyle F.H. Inc. 371 Hooker Avenue Poughkeepsie, NY 12603 from 11am to 1pm. Burial will follow in Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
