Obituary of Kenneth Rauch

Kenneth T. Rauch, 81, of Poughkeepsie , NY passed away Sunday, May 4, 2014 at Lutheran Care Center . Born in Newburgh , NY on September 17, 1932 he was the son to the late Louis Rauch and Lillian Gloster. Kenneth was a lifelong area resident and was a teacher for the Poughkeepsie School District for many years until his retirement until 1995. Kenneth also was retired form K-Mart and The McCann Memorial Golf Course. Kenneth also served as a Marine in the Korea War. He was a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star recipient. Kenneth was a member of the Elks Club, American Legion and the Marine Corps. League. He was also a little league Baseball coach in Lagrange as well as a Scout Master for the Boy Scouts in Lagrange. Kenneth is survived by his former wife Nancy Rauch Kovalik, daughter, Katherine Palome of Poughkeepsie , NY , son, Patrick Rauch of Red Hook, NY and son, Keith Rauch of Wappingers , NY, sister Patricia Vitelli and grandchildren, Mariah, Paul, Anna-Marie, Anthony, Matthew, Michael, Marisa and Stephanie. Kenneth was predeceased in life by his two sons Kevin and David. The family would also like to send a special thanks to the staff on 2North at the Lutheran Care Center . Calling hours will take place at Timothy P. Doyle FH Inc. 371 Hooker Avenue Poughkeepsie, NY 12603 on Thursday, May 8 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm . A Mass of Christian Burial will tale place Friday, May 9 at St, Martin de Porres Church at 10am . Burial will follow at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery .
