She was born at St. Francis Hospital on January 12, 1935 to the late William and Mary (Wroblewski) Lis. She graduated from Poughkeepsie High School in 1952 and went to work at the Fallkill National Bank, retiring as an executive secretary from Barclays Bank in 1991 with 40 years of service. On October 25, 1958 at St. Joseph's Church in Poughkeepsie, she married Joseph J. Calio, who predeceased her in 2010. They were the proud parents of four children, Charles Calio and Marianne Hammer of Poughkeepsie, Robert (Diana) Calio of Red Hook and John Calio of New Orleans, LA. Fran and Joe's daughter Alyssa-Jo predeceased them in 2008. She was the proud grandmother to Nicole (Patrick) MacDougall of Frisco, TX, Heather Calio of Alexandria, VA ; Joseph; Michael; Elizabeth and Johnny Calio, and the proud great grandmother to Marie, Annelise and Benedict MacDougall. Fran loved to cook and bake and will always be remembered for her homemade pizza served with love to all the neighborhood children, boys' baseball teams, graduation parties and many events down through the years. And, of course, she always had homemade chicken soup ready when anyone was feeling low. Fran was an avid fan of all her children's and grandchildren's sporting events, from the girls' softball and boys' baseball where she would be spotted in her chair diligently keeping score and cheering on the team, to soccer, field hockey and to, most recently, Our Lady of Lourdes crew team.
