Obituary of Terry Van Vleek

Terry John Van Vlack, 50, died of a sudden illness surrounded by his loving family at VBMC on Monday, February 15, 2015. Terry, a lifelong area resident, was born on September 6, 1964 in Poughkeepsie, NY. He was predeceased by his parents Clarence and Margaret Van Vlack and nephew Andrew Van Vlack. He is survived by his wife Linda Gorzka Van Vlack of Poughkeepsie, NY, sister Valerie Marcojohn and husband Jay of Poughkeepsie, NY, brothers; David Van Vlack and wife Cheryl of Amsterdam, NY and Clarence Van Vlack of Hyde Park, NY; nieces Casey Roe and husband Andrew of Poughkeepsie,NY, Jamie Paruolo and spouse Stephanie of Wappingers Falls, NY; Bekki Petrucci and husband TJ of Amsterdam, NY; David Van Vlack and wife Audrey of Amsterdam, NY; and Brian Van Vlack of Amsterdam, NY as well as many more relatives and friends. Terry, owner of Van's Plumbing and Heating in Poughkeepsie, NY, was an avid fisherman who was passionate of music and sports. He was a warm and generous husband, brother, brother-in-law, son-in-law, uncle, nephew and friend who was also a well-loved "Friend of Bill" and gracious benefactor to countless members of AA. His death leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Terry's name to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, a charity of Terry's choice. Calling hours are Saturday, February 21, 2015, from 4 -7 pm at Doyle Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
