Obituary of Francis Cross

   Francis "Jerry" Cross, 55, passed away Friday,February 10, 2017 at Vassar Brother's Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.    Born on February 24, 1961 in the Bronx, NY he was the son to Rosemary Allen and Francis G. Cross.   After graduating from Arlington High School, Jerry went on to serve in the United States Air Force as an Airman First Class from 1979 to 1983. After the Air Force Jerry became a volunteer for both the Beekman and Croft Corners Fire Department, eventually working and retiring from Arlington as a Firefighter/Paramedic in 2015. An active part of the community, Jerry enjoyed fishing, was a ham radio enthusiast, was part of the Axeman Firefighters Motorcycle Club, was a Cub Scout leader, and was also a coach for the Spackenkill Girls Novice Crew team.            Jerry is survived by his two children: Sarah and F.Timothy Cross of Poughkeepsie;  his parents Rosemary Allen and Frank Cross; siblings Laurie Cross Cahill, Cindy Cross Brown (Dale), and David Cross; and his nieces and nephew Kristin and Ashley Cahill, Travis, Kalee, Allie and Mackenzie Cross, and Emma Brown; and great-nephew Joshua.           The family would like to thank the ICU staff at Vassar Brother's Medical Center for their excellent support and care.   Calling hours will take place at the Timothy P.Doyle Funeral Home 371 Hooker Avenue Poughkeepsie, NY 12603 Tuesday, February 14, 2017 from 4pm to 8pm. Funeral services will take place Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at 10am at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home. In leiu of flowers,contributions can be made to the Arlington Fire Department at 11 Burnett Blvd. Poughkeepsie, NY 12603
