Obituary of Edward G. Schamberg

Edward G. Schamberg, age 77, of Poughkeepsie, died Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Northern Dutchess Residental Health Care of Rhinebeck, NY. Edm was born March 30, 1940 in Poughkeepsie, NY. He is the son of the late Edward E. and the late Lorretta (Ducharme) Schamberg. He married Terri L Doughty on June 17, 1960 at St. Peter's Church Poughkeepsie.

Ed was a retired employee of Hudson Valley Acoustical where he work as a Carpenter for 55 years.

Ed was a local resident all of his life. he was a graduate of St. Mary's School and Poughkeepsie High School.

Ed was a member of the Carpenters Union, St. Peter's Church and the Poughkeepsie ELKS BPOE #275.

Ed loved to golf, cook and bowl and he enjoyed his trips to the Carolinas to go golfing. At College Hill Golf Course Ed got a Hole in One.

Ed was a past ELK of the year, he served on the house committee and was the Chairmen for 3years. He bowled on the ELKS and Polish leagues and he also was a past Little League Coach in Hyde Park taking his team to become the NYS Little League Champs.

He is survived by his wife Terri L (Doughty) Schamberg of Poughkeepsie, NY, daughter Darlene Calcagni and her husband Gary of Hyde Park, NY., daughter Rene' Mackey of Las Vegas, Nevada. and his son Blaine Schamberg and long time companion Jill of Poughkeepsie, NY.

Ed is also survived by his mother in-law Viola Doughty Sosta of Hyde Park, NY., his grandchildren Scott and his wife Kelly Calcagni, Stacey Calcagni and her fiance Robert Villafuerte, Chelsea Mackey and her companion Daniel Kaminski, Kyle Mackey and Anthony Schamberg, great grandchildren Ethan Kaminski, Zoey Mackey, Liam Calcagni, sister and brother inlaw Janet and Frank Redl of Pleasant Valley and brother inlaw Keith Doughty of Poughkeepsie.

Ed was also predeceased by his father inlaw Waldo "Red" Doughty, step father inlaw Anthony Sosta and sister inlaw Caroline Doughty.
