Obituary of George K Hosier

Ken Hosier passed away unexpectedly and without permission (the same way he lived his life) on July 7, 2023 in Staatsburg, New York.

Born on August 23, 1969 at St. Francis Hospital, Ken was a lifelong resident of the City of Poughkeepsie.

Ken was predeceased by his father, Dolan “Big Don” Senior (2016), his mother, Betty Jean (2015), and his right pointer finger (1987).

He leaves behind his children: Courtney, Justin, and Brittney, his grandchildren: Caiden, Christian, and Se’anna, his brother: Dolan “Don/Donny” Junior (Emanuela), his sisters: Beth and Dawn (Chach), the mothers of his children: Debbie and Tracy, his best friend: Bud Weiser, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

George…I mean “Kenny” was known by those closest to him for his famous mac and cheese recipe - handed down to him by his mother (elbow macaroni, green bell peppers, milk, flour, and two layers of sliced yellow american cheese), his love of Tupac and Biggie, flipping coffee tables while watching the Giants, Yankees, and Knicks, having a side of hot dogs with boxed mac and cheese, watching Pawn Stars, Deadliest Catch, and Cops, and his cellphone that was full of photos of his grandchildren.

Ken’s family will miss his Dutch Ovens, his foul mouth, being called horrible names, giving him a ride to the Discount, and being able to call him for anything and everything: a couch to crash on, a place to stay, an ear to listen.

The family regrets to inform that if Ken owed you money, it’s a little too late for that.

A Memorial Service will be held on July 16, 2023 from 11:00am to 1:00pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home located at 371 Hooker Ave Poughkeepsie NY 12603
