Nancy Beaudoin

Obituary of Nancy J. Beaudoin

On August 2, 2023, after an extended battle with dementia, Nancy Judith Beaudoin, 78, of Millbrook, went home to be with the Lord. She was surrounded by her loving family and took her final breath with her favorite hymns playing softly in the background as her children and grandchildren offered prayers and shared the great stories of her life.

Nancy could make the ordinary magical. She didn’t believe in boredom since there was always something for her to create or discover either through books or the world in which she marveled. Cookies to enjoy with a cup of tea, things to mend friends to visit, and fresh laundry to hang on the line were some of the seemingly ordinary aspects of life that she was able to fill with wonder and joy! She was an accomplished baker and artist, an avid reader, and admirer of the natural world. She was wise and tough and so funny. She was unafraid of speaking her mind, taking on a project, and filling her world (and in turn, our world) with color.

Nancy was born on November 23, 1945, in Poughkeepsie and was a lifelong area resident of Dutchess County, New York. Nancy loved the Lord and was completely dedicated to loving others as wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.

Nancy's father and mother, Robert and Alice (Markowitz) Davis, of Poughquag, her brother James, and her loving husband, Raymond, predecease her. She is survived by her three sons, Steven Beaudoin of Millbrook; Jay Slocum and his wife, Catherine of Pennsylvania; Brandon Beaudoin and his wife Kim, of North Carolina; and her three daughters, Tonna Odell of Pleasant Valley; Alicia Beaudoin of Virginia; and Shanon O'Hearn and her husband Jim of Millbrook. She is survived by her grandchildren, Brittani O’hearn and her Partner Rick Schutlz; Emma Cole and her husband Josh; Justin O'Hearn and his wife Kelly; Nicole Beaudoin, Alexandra Beaudoin, Lydia Slocum, Kiera O’hearn and Logan Beaudoin. She is survived by her great-grandsons, Judah Schultz, and her niece, Kristen Davis.

A funeral service will be held at Valley Bible Fellowship Church, Lagrangeville, NY, on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at 10:30am followed by a burial at the Beekman Cemetery, Poughquag, NY.
