Obituary of Cecilia Monturo

Cecilia Monturo, a devoted homemaker and beloved mother, passed away peacefully at the age of 96 on December 17, 2023, surrounded by her loving family in the comfort of her home. She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas Monturo, and her son, John Monturo. Cecilia is survived by her son, Paul Monturo, and daughters, Toni Marie Monturo, Ann Jordan, and Helen Monturo. She also leaves behind a legacy of 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, who cherished her dearly. Throughout her life, Cecilia dedicated herself to raising her five children, creating a warm and nurturing home for her family. She also had a successful career as a cafeteria manager, having worked at Saint Martin De Porres School and various Dutchess County locations of IBM. Cecilia and her husband, Tom, were active members of their community, leading sessions and weekends for marriage encounter, engaged encounter, and youth encounter in the mid-Hudson area. They were also deeply involved in church events and activities for many years. Cecilia’s commitment to her faith led her to become a Eucharistic minister, serving her fellow parishioners and enriching their spiritual lives. Known for her zest for life, and Humor, Cecilia was always ready to have fun and warmly embrace the company of others. She was a loyal, generous, and loving friend to her family and anyone fortunate enough to have crossed her path. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 21, 2023, from 5 PM to 8 PM at the Doyle Funeral Home. A service to celebrate Cecilia’s life will take place on Friday, December 22, 2023, at 10:00 am, at St. Martin DePorres Church, located at 118 Cedar Valley Road, Poughkeepsie NY 12603. She will be laid to rest at the Gates of Heaven, Located at 5 Bradhurst Ave, Hawthorne, NY 10532, where her spirit will live on forever.
