Obituary of Rose Ackert

Rose E. Ackert, 79, of Hyde Park, New York died June 15, 2008 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. She had been an Assembler at Shatz Federal Bearing, Poughkeepsie, retiring in 1991. She had been a local resident all her life and was a member of St. Mary's Church. She was an avid Bingo player and she loved all her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Born in Wappingers Falls, NY on January 1, 1929, she was the daughter of Sabatino DiFrancesco and Frances Guiffre. She attended Wappingers Schools. On May 30, 1970 in Clintondale, New York, she married Harry W. Ackert. He predeceased her on May 18, 1998. Survivors include daughter; Linda Folster of Hyde Park, daughter; Nancy Carter of San Jose, California, son and daughter in-law; Paul C. and Mary Folster Jr. of Milton, New York, daughter and son in-law; Frances and Lloyd Willis of Hyde Park, New York, son; Leslie Folster Sr. of Poughkeepsie, New York, daughter; Louise Folster of Poughkeepsie, New York, 13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren, stepson; Kevin Ackert of Massachusetts and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four sisters. Calling hours will be held Thursday June 19, 2008 from 5pm to 8pm at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 am, June 20, 2008 at St. Mary's Church, Poughkeepsie with Father Brinn officiating. Burial will be in Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery, South Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY.
