Obituary of Karen Anson

Karen Anson, 58, of Hyde Park, passed away on Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at the Kaplan Family Hospice Residence. A lifelong area resident, she was employed as an Archive Tech for the FDR Presidential Library. She served in the United States Army. She loved to do crafts, crochet and read. Born in Poughkeepsie on June 24, 1951, she was the daughter of Robert John and Antoinette Pellegrino Place. She was a graduate of Roosevelt High School. She was married to John Anson who predeceased her. She is survived by a son, John Burtis of Hyde Park; a sister and brother in law, Patricia and Ron Bennis of Vienna, VA; brothers and sisters in law, Joe and Mary Place of Largo, FL; Tom Place and Sharon Goulet of Canton, CT; and Ned and Denise Place of Ithaca, NY; a brother, Bob Place and brother and sister in law, Steven and Jade Place of Catskill; a half sister, Verna Golden a step daughter, Cara Anson of Poughkeepsie; a step son, Wayne Anson of Pleasant Valley as well as many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, May 2, 2010 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie. Funeral services and burial will be at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be made to the Kaplan Family Hospice Residence, Newburgh, NY or the Hospice Foundation, 371 Violet Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.
