Obituary of Esther F Anthony

Esther F Anthony, age 95, of Poughkeepsie died Friday, February 25, 2011 at Lutheran Care Center, Poughkeepsie. Mrs. Anthony was born January 29, 1916 at Glascow, NY the daughter of the late Benjamin and Elizabeth Kreseman Balogh. Esther married Joseph E. Anthony in 1937 at Poughkeepsie, NY. Mr. Anthony predeceased her on October 20, 1984. Esther was employed as a nurse at Bowne Memorial, Vassar Brothers Hospital, and the Poughkeepsie Medical Group until her retirement in 1979. She is survived by, her two sons, Frank and Larry Anthony, her sister R. Rita Balogh, 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Esther was predeceased by her son Albert Anthony, her three sisters, Elizabeth Johnson, Margarite Andros, Mary Teleki, and a brother Louis Balogh. Calling hours will be on Tuesday, March 1, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Av. Poughkeepsie, NY. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 2, at 10:00 AM by Father James Garisto at Our Lady Of The Rosary Chapel in Poughkeepsie. Burial will follow at Saint Peter’s Cemetery, Salt Point Turnpike, Poughkeepsie.
