Obituary of Lastenia Bahamonde

Lastenia Bahamonde, 83, of Town of Poughkeepsie, died November 6, 2008 at St. Francis Hospital. She was a homemaker. A 15-year local resident, she had resided previously in Yonkers and Chile. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother; the youngest of 11 children and one still survives in Chile. Born July 23, 1925 in Punta Arenas, Chile, she was the daughter of Gregorio Gallardo and Isabelle Vidal. On Oct. 8, 1948 in Chile, she married Gabriel Bahamonde, who survives at home. Other survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Candido Palermo of Town of Poughkeepsie; grandchildren and their spouses, Cynthia Palermo and Dick Murchison of Washington, CT, Joseph G. and Kerri Palermo of Hyde Park, NY; and great grandchildren, Brianna, Alyssa and Joseph G., Jr. Palermo. There are no calling hours. A graveside service will be held Nov. 10, 2008 at 11:00 am at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery, South Ave., Poughkeepsie.
