Obituary of Patricia Behnke

Patricia M. Behnke, 72, of Poughkeepsie, died Friday, Jan. 16, 2009 at home. Mrs. Behnke was a lifelong resident and a homemaker. She was a member of Briarcliff RV Resort in Myrtle Beach, SC, IBM Country Club and St. Martin de Porres Church. Pat loved to travel, camp and cruise. She traveled with her husband, George, cross country five times. She also bowled at the Holiday Bowl in the Women's League. Born Dec. 7, 1936 in Poughkeepsie, she was the daughter of Marty and Josephine Sucato Calega. She attended Poughkeepsie High School. On June 29, 1958 in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Poughkeepsie, she married George J. Behnke. Mr. Behnke survives at home. In addition to her husband, she is also survived by her daughter, Renee Behnke of Poughkeepsie; her daughter and son-in-law, Dana and Robert Geiner of Raleigh, NC; her brother, Marty Calega of West Palm Beach, FL; her grandchildren, Kyle Setaro, Andrew, Ashley, Alex and Allison Geiner; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased her brother, Anthony Calega on Dec. 3, 008. Calling hours will be 4-8 p.m., Monday, Jan. 19, at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 20, at St. Martin de Porres Church. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery, Salt Point Turnpike, Poughkeepsie.
