Obituary of Theresa Bocchino

Theresa Bocchino, 101, a resident of Poughkeepsie all her life, died Thursday, February 12, 2009, at The Pines at Poughkeepsie. She was a Seamstress for Perry Sortswear until her retirement in 1973. She was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union and St. Peter's Parish. She loved her entire Family, liked to sew and loved to garden. Born September 14, 1907, in Alief, Italy, she was the daughter of Dominick and Emanuella Biondi DelSanto. On April 26, 1925, at Out Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, she married Albert Bocchino, who predeceased her on March 3, 1989. Survivors include son and daughterin-law, Thomas and Anne Marie Bocchino of Port St. Lucie FL; daughter and son-in-law, Anna and Richard Place of Poughkeepsie; grandchildren, Karen Carlisle, Betty Potenza, Diana Place, JoAnne Smith, Kathy Myers, Terri Albrecht, Leonard Fanelli, Susan Morgan, Patty Crocco, Thomas Bocchino, John Bocchino, Linda Boland, Joseph Bocchino and Mary Meringolo; over 30 great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter Josephine Fanelli, a sister, Elizabeth Paroli and brothers, Frank, Victor, Mike, John, Sam and Louis DelSanto. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, February 15, 2009 from 4pm to 8pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am on Monday, February 16, 2009, at Our Lady Of The Rosary Chapel of St. Peter's Church with Father James A. Garisto officiating. Burial will be at St. Peter's Cemetery, Salt Point Turnpike, Poughkeepsie, NY.
