Obituary of Frank Catucci

Frank A. Catucci, Sr., 83, of Clinton Corners, passed away on Friday, Aug. 14, 2009 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. A lifelong area resident, he was employed as the Transportation Supervisor for the Wappingers Central School Dist., retiring in 1992. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Florentine Council 4th Degree and Holy Trinity Church. Frank loved to socialize with people especially after he retired. Born in Poughkeepsie on May 3, 1927, he was the son of Giacomo and Maddalena Surico Catucci. He was a graduate of Poughkeepsie High School. On July 4, 1963 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Poughkeepsie he married Isabell E. Blasi. Mrs. Catucci predeceased her husband on Feb. 25, 2007. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Toni Catucci of Poughkeepsie; his son and fiance Giacomo Catucci and Alysia of Clinton Corners; his son and fiance Joseph Catucci and Tracy of Poughkeepsie; his daughter, Kathleen Kerr of Charleston, SC; his daughter and son in law Mary and Kevin Gillis of Charleston, SC; his grandchildren, Kristin Kerr Elizabeth Gillis, Jade Studd and Isabell Catucci; his brother, James Catucci and his sisters, Lillian Aller and Isabell Scicca. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his brothers, Donald, John and Paul Catucci and his sister Erminia Catucci Gahan. Calling hours will be held on Monday, Aug. 17, 2009 from 4 pm to 8 pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2009 at 9:45 am at Holy Trinity Church. Burial will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery, Salt Point Turnpike, Poughkeepsie. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 305 Manchester Rd., Poughkeepsie, NY 12601 or the American Cancer Society, 2678 South Road, Suite 102, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.
