Obituary of Virginia DiStefano

Virginia DiStefano a Poughkeepsie resident died September 29, 2009 at St. Francis Hospital after a short Illness. She was a member of Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, also Queen City Seniors and Club 13. She had previously owned the Thimble in Poughkeepsie New York. Born in Waterbury, CT, she was the daughter of Concetta Micalizzi and Salvatore Triola and step-daughter of Anthony Morabito. She married Albert DiStefano on November 28, 1937 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. He died April 10, 1995. A son Anthony DiStefano died June 29, 1985. Survivors include son Joseph Di Stefano and Diane Troy of California. A grandson Christian Di Stefano and wife Kim. Two great-grandsons Andrews J. DiStefano and Jason DiStefano of Oregon. One Sister Josephine DeMichele of Florida, two brothers Angelo Triola and wife Terri, John Morabito and wife Judy, and sister-in-law Ellen Triola. She was predeceased by her brother, Mario Triola and four sisters, Eleanor McKenna, Domenica Kowalski, Antoinette Aiello and Rose Klump. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Friday October 2, 2009 from 4pm to 8pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday October 3, 2009, 9:45am at Holy Trinity Church. Burial will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery.
